Settled and Closed - Williams v. WeDriveU, Inc.

This action alleges Defendant WeDriveU, Inc. (“WeDriveU” or “Defendant”) engaged in the following illegal activities: (1) negligence; (2) intentional infliction of emotional distress; (3) violation of the Freedom from Violence Pursuant to The Ralph Act, California Civil Code §§ 51.7 and 52; (4) negligent misrepresentation; (5) discrimination on the basis of physical disability, in violation of California Government Code section 12940(a); (6) harassment, by knowingly permitting harassment of Ms. Williams in the workplace on the basis of her sex, physical disability, and requesting accommodations, in violation of California Government Code section 12940(j); (7) failure to take all reasonable steps to prevent discrimination and harassment in the workplace regarding sex, physical disability, and request for reasonable accommodations, in violation of California Government Code section 12940(k); (8) failure to provide reasonable accommodations for known physical disability in violation of California Government Code section 12940(m)(1); (9) failure to engage in a timely, good faith, interactive process with Ms. Williams to determine effective reasonable accommodations for her physical disability, in violation of California Government Code section 12940(n); (10) retaliation against Ms. Williams for engaging in a protected action, including reporting sexual harassment and physical assault by a co-employee to Defendant, and requesting reasonable accommodations for her physical disability; and (11) wrongful termination of Ms. Williams in violation of public policy, California Labor Code § 230(f)(1), and California Government Code section 12940(h), on the basis of Ms. Williams’s status as an individual with a physical disability; requests for accommodations for her physical disability; requests for accommodations to get away from a co-worker, who sexually harassed and physically assaulted Plaintiff at work; and complaints about sexual harassment and physical assault.

The parties have reached a settlement of Ms. Williams' claims.
